How much will it cost for me to get a covid test?

It’s no cost to you with insurance coverage. If you do not have insurance and for travel testing, the cost is $250. We offer financial hardship applications as well – please ask if needed.

Can you send my results to my doctor / clinic/ hospital / other via fax or email?

Your provider needs to send us a HIPAA-compliant request by email, fax, or call.

How can I view and share My Care Labs COVID/RSV/Flu test results with my airline, friends, family, school, work, doctor, hospital, another clinic, insurance, etc?

Our Patientxchange portal allows you to download a PDF or Readipass (travel) QR code of your test results. You can log into your patient portal on our website.

Will I receive an EOB or bill?

Covid-19 Related Questions

I took a Covid Rapid/Antigen at home test and it was negative, but I am still having the following symptom(s): coughing, wheezing, runny nose, sore-throat, sneezing, difficulty breathing, and/or headaches.

Rapid/Antigen-at home tests are at best 67 percent accurate compared to a PCR test. Antigen tests also don’t catch your illness in the early stage of being sick. Our CLIA certified lab process analyzes PCR samples for a complete and accurate reading.

I don’t feel sick/ill but I was exposed to someone who is/was (recently) Covid-19 Positive (or exposed), should I test?

Yes, people can be “asymptomatic” (show no symptoms) with Covid-19 and expose others without knowing it.

What are the different kinds of Covid testing available?

we offer 4 types of tests, which is real-time, reverse-transcription qPCR (RT-qPCR) testing.

  • Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests are sent away to a lab to diagnose disease
  • Lateral flow tests (LFTs) aka Rapid antigen tests can diagnose Covid-19 on the spot, but aren’t as accurate as PCR tests (they only detect Covid later in the disease cycle in your body)
  • Antibody / serology tests don’t diagnose active infections, but demonstrate if a patient has immunity to Covid-19.

I was recently tested negative/positive for covid-19, how long do I need to stay quarantined before I can go out again?

CDC’s guidelines are to “stay home for at least 5 days and isolate from others in your home.” However, follow your doctor/physician’s guidelines.

I have the following symptom(s): cough-wheezing or dry, runny nose, sore-throat, sneezing, difficulty breathing, and/or headaches. Do I need to test?

Yes, it is highly recommended to rule out Covid-19, RSV, or influenza A/B as the underlying cause of your symptoms. Our combo tests can rule out each of these ailments.

Do you offer PCR testing or RT-PCR testing? What’s the difference between these?

We offer RT-PCR testing. Longer explanation: There are several types of PCR tests—

1. Standard PCR .

2. Hot Start PCR.

3. RT-PCR, and

4. qPCR/RT-qPCR.
