The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an alert to public health officials warning that the number of U.S. measles cases this year has already matched the entirety of 2023.
In 2024, 93% of 58 reported cases were linked to international travel. Austria, Philippines, Romania, and the UK face measles outbreaks.
CDC: Measles, highly contagious, can cause pneumonia, encephalitis, death, especially in unvaccinated.
