Job description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists office staff with greeting and registering patients, or answering calls from patients, as needed
  • Documents all activities as necessary, including preventive maintenance logs, troubleshooting, and documentation work performed
  • Communicate and consult with clinic and office staff as needed to assist with patient and insurance paperwork filing
  • Doing Order or Billing Entry if needed through our computer systems, following all procedures to enter data correctly, editing data, and/or verifying data entered
  • Keep own work area clean, neat, and tidy
  • Comply with laws and regulations, and company procedures and policies
  • Completing adjacent tasks as needed to support laboratory objectives.

Qualifications and education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related life science ideal, but not required
  • 1+ years previous experience in a clinical laboratory or related work environment preferred
  • Previous experience and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams/Zoom
  • Familiarity with CLIA and CAP regulatory requirements
  • Conduct activities in compliance with HIPAA, CLIA and other regulatory guidelines
  • Identify and report any unsafe equipment, conditions, and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident

Physical demands and environmental

  • Must be able to sit/stand to perform necessary volunteer work
  • Able to use fingers and hands
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the volunteer will primarily be in an adequately filtered office environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, with occasional background music/TV noise

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: Volunteer + water, snacks, commercial paper shredding available

Education:

  • High School GED or Bachelor’s

Experience:

  • Any medical/clinical/hospital setting, customer service, and/or office admin experienced people are welcome to apply
  • Optional: Clinical laboratory experience

Work Location: Normally Fremont Office/Lab location, but occasionally may work off-site at our pop-up locations if mutually agreed upon
