If you or a family member tests positive for COVID-19, don’t panic, but it’s essential to take immediate steps to protect yourself and others. Here’s a practical, expert-backed checklist:
1. Isolate Immediately
Stay in a separate room and use a separate bathroom (if available). Avoid close contact with others especially seniors, children, and people with weakened immune systems.
How long? At least 5 days after symptoms begin or after your positive test (whichever comes first). If you’re symptom-free after 5 days, wear a mask around others for another 5 days.
